Aisling Bea

Aisling was born on 16 March, 1984, on the island of Kildare Ireland. She is one of Ireland's top-rated and popular comedians. The comedian has been on QI alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984), better known as Aisling Bea, is an Irish comedian and actress from Ireland. Following appearances in bits in several Irish and British television series from 2009 Bea began her stand-up comic in the year 2011. The comedian began to appear regularly on sketch comedy and sitcoms from 2012. In 2012, after she won an award at Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA) and began to be featured frequently in panel programs. She's a member of 8 Out of 10 Cats since 2016 and she is one of the most popular contestants on the spinoff 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The actress is the child of Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead, her older sister was born. She is only the second ever female to be a winner of the show So You Think You're Funny. Bea is her surname in honor of her deceased father. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan is the daughter of a Kildare born girl. She was born in March 16, 1984. Bea's father Brian was a veterinarian who worked with horses who committed suicide at three-years-old. However, she was not aware of the cause for her father's death until she was 13 years old. Bea was her stage name. Bea is a tribute to her father. She published an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017, about her experience of suicide. Bea along with her younger sister Sinead were nurtured by their mother Helen (nee Moloney) a secondary school teacher jockey trainer and professional jockey for a time. The family was fascinated by racing meetings and horses. When she was a child, Bea worked as a tour guide at the Irish National Stud however she was aware from an early stage that she was not keen on the sport of racing as a job, and enjoyed performing.
